FIVERR

Using big brand ads to bring attention to small businesses.

FIVERR HANDLE HIJACK

For Fiverr's first Superbowl spot, we wanted to show how a small business can easily scale up and hire freelance professionals when the opportunity presents itself. To illustrate this point we used the famous Four Seasons Total Landscaping, the mistaken location for Rudy Giuliani's ill-fated press conference.

In our spot, we scaled them up from a small business when they got too big for their literal britches, as Four Seasons Total Landscaping went worldwide. Then, we decided to take the same mistake that catapulted Four Seasons Total Landscaping into history and apply it to dozens of other small businesses during the Super Bowl Broadcast. Live. After each spot for a big brand aired, we tweeted a message of congratulations to them but tagged a small business with a similar name instead.

From Pringles Bagpipes to TurboTaco to Mountain Donuts, we used our 'mistaken' tweets to bring Big Game attention to small businesses that needed it most. By tweeting at the wrong handles, we gave some props to the big brands and some exposure for the little ones. A hijack for good during a tough time for small business.
